I’m pretty proud of myself. I’ve tried many different types of photography in the past couple of years and newborn photography is one that I hated.

But what about capturing my own babies? What was I to do? Come out of pocket for the expense? Or tackle the task at hand myself, with not just one, but TWO babies?

I definitely had my work cut out for me.

I decided to tackle the task myself. Coming out of pocket for this just seemed ridiculous when I have experience behind a camera. Plus it was a bit easier to do because a.) they were my own kids and b.) I wasn’t pressed for time. When they are your own kids, you have a little bit more flexibility in what you can do.

I got the pictures done in one day BUT it did however take several hours (and a team of 3 people). Most of the day was split up between crying, sleeping and eating, oh yeah and peeing and pooping on my props. But I still love my little angels and it was worth every single second.

I’m pretty proud of how the pictures turned out, and even prouder to tell people that I did them myself. This is something I will cherish for forever. Will I ever do newborn pictures again (as part of my business)? Not really sure. Again it takes a lot of time and patience. But I will say that I now know that I am willing to do anything for my kids. Even tackle my fears, because they are my everything! 🙂
