A Little Black and White
Sometimes I just get in a mood where black and whites are everything. Last Sunday was one of those days…
After the pool, we took a bath and the twins wanted to set up a secret club house to watch movies with some of their favorite toys and stuffed animals. They set up a blanket, propped up the iPad and began to entertain themselves. Little did they know that mommy had a partially broken tent that’s been sitting in the garage for years. I decided to take the tent out and set it up (with the help of some electrical tape) and asked them to turn around. Jaw dropping doesn’t even begin to explain their reaction.
Black and white photos have always been a favorite of mine and it’s because (for me) they tend to zone in on the emotions with in the picture.
The other day I received a few compliments on my black and white pictures I had of the twins. One comment being “Your pics give me forever chills” (thanks Jeimy Puckett). That got me thinking about my overall goals when shooting. I want to make people feel something when they look at my photos. If I’ve done that, then I’ve done my job!
Cheers to imagination, Sunday adventures and all the feels.
